Asalto al Parque Zoológico (APZOO) is a shoegaze and dream pop band formed in 2008 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Founded by Fernando Gigliotti (guitar/vocals), the band's musical style is deeply rooted in late 1980s and early 1990s British shoegaze, drawing heavy inspiration from iconic acts such as My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Ride, and Lush. Their sound is characterized by a delicate balance of textured guitar noise, sampling, and atmospheric pop melodies.

The band debuted with a self-released EP in 2009, followed by the EP APZOO in 2011 released via Black Fish Discos. Their music caught international attention, leading to their Japanese debut in 2013 with the compilation SOFT FOCUS under the Japanese label HANDS AND MOMENT. During their active years, they built a solid reputation within the global underground shoegaze community and even performed as a support act for Thurston Moore (ex-Sonic Youth).

In November 2014, they released their highly acclaimed first full-length album, "Hexadecimal," co-released by Casa Del Puente Discos in Argentina and HANDS AND MOMENT in Japan. The album showcased their distinctive approach to the genre—retaining the signature wall of noise while maintaining a remarkably clear and intricate sonic structure.

Tragedy struck the band in March 2015, when their 28-year-old bassist, Gabriela Luján Maumus, and her boyfriend tragically passed away in the Germanwings Flight 9525 crash in the French Alps. Following this devastating loss, the band went on an indefinite hiatus, leaving Hexadecimal as their definitive landmark release.
